Decorating Cupcakes with Quiet Riot!

If someone had told me back in the ’80s that I’d be decorating cupcakes with Quiet Riot 40+ years later, I’d have pretty much thought they were out of their minds.

But here we are, my girlfriends and I, decorating away.

The 80s Cruise delivers some unique opportunities to connect with the bands we grew up on. If you love music, the cruise is worth checking out.

Quiet Riot’s current lineup: Johnny Kelly on drums, Jizzy Pearl on vocals (and he’s an author too), Alex Grossi on guitar, and Rudy Sarzo on bass & backing vocals, an original member from the ’80s. No album to sign? No problem, next best thing, your paper cupcake hat.

Rudy fully leaned in. He wore the paper hat, put on the sterile gloves, signed autographs, and, when he needed a break, he just plopped down and ate his cupcake and cracked us all up.

Quiet Riot sounded great and absolutely rocked it. One of my favorite performances and interviews from the 2026 80s Cruise. I even got a couple of great quotes from Rudy about “Metal Health” and Jizzy that will be in Book #2 of the Invincible 80s series.

Did it matter that I paid $75 for the class when I’m gluten-free and couldn’t even eat the damn cupcake? Nope. It’s about saying yes to new experiences, showing up, and being part of moments you never could have planned back when you thought you had it all figured out.
